Welcome to the Last Chance Music Camp website! This page is designed to be a resource for campers, donors, and other community members interested in supporting the summer music camp unique to Helena. We appreciate your support and feedback as our camp grows and evolves with each successful summer.
The Last Chance Orchestra Camp began in 2008 when a small group of dedicated string players joined together at C.R. Anderson Middle School to explore and perform music after the school year ended. Starting in 2016, the camp moved to Helena Middle School to accommodate band and choir students who were invited to join what orchestra had enjoyed for eight years. This camp has grown ten fold since its inception–our 2023 enrollment included over 100 students from the Helena area and beyond. These talented musicians rehearsed, studied, and performed all manner of music under the guidance of over 20 local music instructors and student counselors.
Staff members are excited about our three Last Chance Music Camp 2024 experiences; we look forward to working with a new group of students this summer and hope everyone will consider joining us for any program run by Ironhorse Youth Music during the school year.
